Rick Beck has an M.F.A. in Glass from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, IL and a B.A. in Art from Hastings College, Hastings, NE, Emphasis on glass. He lives in Spruce Pine, NC and shares a glass studio with his wife. Rick was awarded a visual arts fellowship by the North Carolina Arts Coun-cil, followed by a National Endow-ment for the Arts Regional Visual Arts fellowship from the Southern Arts Federation in 1995. Rick has taught at Pilchuck Glass School in Washington Penland School of Craft in North Carolina among other places.
